12. Necro Butcher Interview

Boy, there was alot of blood in that Younger/Brain Damage match. The blood was literally squirting out of BD’s forehead. The Ruckus vs. Gauge match was a total abortion and it didn’t seem they knew wtf they were doing. Vordell Walker on the mic, Ricochet, Pinkie Sanchez’ entrance, and two of my favorites, Sexxy Eddy and LuFisto, were the bright spots on an otherwise bland and boring and really bad show. Necro Butcher teaming up with Nicky Benz and turning heel was definitely good, like to see where this goes… oh! A death match! Wow.

Heck of show. Yes, not one HELL of a show, just one heck of a show. I felt various things throughout watching. Like, “Wow, this is really looking indy-tastic,” (That isn’t a good thing). Best thing on it were Chris Hero’s antics and Nigel McGuiness’ promo after taking a massive beating the night before. All really good matches but I think it paled in comparison to the past events they’ve had. I think their roster is suddenly, or not so suddenly, depleted. Good looking out for a guy like Tyler Black and shit, but it’s still not even on the level of TNA, if TNA wanted to be serious.

Yes, these are spoilers since I watched this about three weeks ago and decided to post it finally. Other then the Fish Market Street Fight and the opener I didn’t really like this show that much. That 3 way tag team opener was great and it’s sad they don’t push all of those teams more. Whatever, TNAis just bringing the bad booking here in 2008.

Wrestling Radio Report: IYH, Minority Report, LAW

Friday Night Fever 3/7/08
LAW 3/16/08
Minority Report 3/3/08
Minority Report 3/17/08

Listened to all these shows over the past week and a half. I’m surprised at how much I like the Minority Report with Don Tony and Kevin castle. When I first heard the show I thought they were a couple of arrogant asses, and I still think they come off that way alot of the times, but their show is a great listen. The LAW is pretty decent but after awhile it’s sorta the same thing over and over again. The Friday Night Fever on 3/7/08 had Jack and co-host Buck doling out FNF HoF awards and it was a funny show for sure. I wanted to call in about ten times to argue about some of their picks. New Jack? A wrestling music album? Very amusing shit.

5. Sword Army vs. Axe Army:
Ryouji Sai & Kengo Mashimo vs. Yoshihito Sasaki & Daisuke Sekimoto ***1/2

6. International Jr. Heavyweight Title:
Ikuto Hidaka (c) vs. Masaaki Mochizuki ***

Looking back I don’t think this was as good of a card as I have seen from Z-1 so far this year. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the tag team match and subsequent punking out of Sasuke by Minoru Fujita & Takuya Sugawara. The New Japan vs. Z1 stuff is pretty good and Omori, Nakanishi, and Kanamoto all look good in getting this over. I’m totally diging the Kengo Mashimo vs. Yoshihito Sasaki, big fan of Mashimo and his bad-assness. There were some great spots and reversals and counters in the main event, and Mochizuki is a guy who I always pay attention too when he’s in there after seeing him as Kamikaze vs. Colt Cabana. No doubt Ikuto Hidaka is big dookie in Japan but I think he’s a pretty boy and I like to see him get his ass kicked.
