—————————————————————–
This was a fun show, although I don’t dig Chikara’s small ring. That comes straight to mind. Chris Hero & Claudio continue to cement themselves as another tag team of the year contender. Chikara itself shines through as a whole as a good promotion, even a great promotion. However, it is its own unique animal. My nephew is coming to visit me and he’s 5 1/2 years old and Chikara wrestling would be the somewhere I would take him.

I shat on Shane Storm/Crossbones for the first half and then got behind them to give it the old college try and make something out of a match between a gimmick I hate (Storm) and a fat kid who really needs to lose weight (Crossbones). Shane Storm belongs with the Darkness Crabtree’s of the world. A guy I really disliked, Icarus, deserves to be pushed. He was a face last time I was watching Chikara (2005-early) and now he’s turned heel, and I like his mic work to some extent and think he should fit into that cayegory of inside talent that’s pushed heavy.

Larry Sweeney is the best character on the show and I enjoy everything he does. He’s a good talker but not up there with the best yet. I’ve watched Sweeney in IWA-MS and here, and he comes off as a bigger star in Chikara and he’s given a bigger role. His angle here with Mana, gives off that old school vibe of a guy hiring another to do his dirty work. Sweeney would make a great manager some day. Ultramantis Black on pbp calling him “The Palimino” is great.
