LLPW on ESPN 2/26/06

Filed under: The Pro Wrestling, LLPW

LLPW on ESPN 4/1/06 (Taped 2/26 Tokyo)
1. Kayuko Haruyama vs. Kazuki
Both looked like good wrestlers, don’t know them. Short match, clean finish, and the girls were chunky joshi goodness. *1/2
2. Sayori Okino / Eiger vs. Obachi Iizuka/Bachiko
I hate the LLPW “Men in Drag” stuff. I seriously don’t care for it, I don’t know why considering I like Pimpinella. I would love to see Sayori Okino (not too bad a wrestler and a real MILF) and the ghost woman Eiger in ECW. *1/2
3. Eagle Sawai vs. Mima Shimoda
Eagle looks good cuz she’s a big girl but she blew a ton of spots. Mima Shimoda looked REAL pretty here, and she was carrying this the whole way, even with a few missed kicks. Eagle really was that bad in certain spots, exposing the biz you might say, but in the big man spots and the pslashes and shit she was pretty convincing. *1/2
4. Kumiko Maekawa vs. Harley Saito
This match was very strong. Kumiko Maekawa is a gret wrestler with some good kicks and a nice move-set. I know Saito is a veteran but she moved like a jr. lightweight. Some of it was repetetive but it was the best match of the night. **1/4
5. Shinobu Kandori/Takao Inoue vs. Noriyo Tateno/Amazing Kong
I swear Kandori looks like Flair or Harley race in the ring with some of her moves, so very old school. I dunno how old she is but she really moves very well. Takako Inoue is hot as ever and she hits some decent kicks with those long legs. Amazing Kong should be in ECW. Her gladiator/Xena type costume in black leather is phat. The bleached braids, awesome. **

1. Yutaka Yoshie/Akebono vs. Hiro Saito/Black Strong Machine
2. Brock Lesnar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (IWGP Title)
3. Giant Bernard vs. Manabu Nakanishi
4. Yuji Nagata vs. Kazunari Murakami
5. Shinjiro Ohtani vs. Koji Kanemoto
6. Katsuyori Shibata vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi
7. Masa Chono/Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Takao Omori/Shiro Koshinaka (IWGP Tag Titles)
8. Riki Choshu/Daisuke Sekimoto/Takashi Uwano/ Kohei Sato/Yoshito Sasaki/Kamikaze vs. Tatsumi Fujinami/Osamu Nishimura/Takeshi Iiuzuka/Toru Yano/Hirooki Goto/Hiroshi Nagao
9. Ryuji Sai vs. Naofumi Yamamoto
10. Tiger Mask/Minoru Tanaka vs. Tatsuhito Takaiwa/Tomohiro Ishii
11. Masato Tanaka/Kintaro Kanemura/Badboy Hido vs. Jushin Liger/Gedo/Jado

———————————————————————-
Not a veteran of NJ wrestling and their big shows I can’t comment but I think this would go down as a poor showing. I liked Nagata vs. Murakami alot, as well as the tag match before the main event. I liked seeing all the stars on the show, especially the BJPW guys. I liked the fact the card seemed to be reversed, with the IWGP Title going on second. Bernard vs. Nakanishi was very very bad.

CHIKARA “Naked” 3/31/06

Chikara DVD March 31, 2006 “Naked” - Reading, PA
1. Lancelot vs. Triple Dragon
2. Prescription Thugs vs. The Colony
3. Crossbones vs. Andy Sumner
4. Cheech & Cloudy vs. Eddie Kingston & Joker
5. Rorschach vs. Hallowicked
6. Ares vs. Mike Quackenbush
7. Team F.I.S.T. vs. Shane Storm & Jigsaw
8. Larry Sweeney vs. Milano Collection AT

———————————————
This was a fun time had by all. The main event wasn’t bad, both men working well together. Larry is funny and a top personality and a good announcer as well. Ares was good and I want to see him and Claudio tag wrestle. Ares has good charisma it seemed and it was also good to watch Quack wrestle again after the possible retirement and he had a good match. Andy Sumner looked crappy here. He’s at the bottom of my list of rookies.

ECW 6/13/06 WWE “Debut Show”

What a show! Perhaps it might just win the Worst Card/Event/Show of the Year award. Can you believe it? Regardless of all the hype going in, you had to have big hopes for this show and that no matter what they couldn’t blow it. But they managed to do just that in the most bizarre ways, and I won’t go into them. When the best part of the show is an indy unknown dressed as a zombie gtting caned, a parody and a slap in the face of Sci-Fi, so it’s something right off the bat a negative (even though I LOVE it) on the show as a whole and a strike against getting a chance if the ratings drop. Meltzer reports a 2.8 which was huge, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was down to half that in two weeks. I didn’t like the jobbing out of Justin Credible, I didn’t see the point of barbie Blank aka Kelly(?) doing that striptease, and the battle royal was a joke( I liked the ending and the winner).

Charlie Haas vs. Viscera w/ Lillian Garcia
WET & WILD WATER CONTEST: Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle
Triple H vs The Spirit Squad
Umaga w/Armando Alejandro Estrada vs. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan w/Eugene
Johnny Nitro w/Melina Perez vs. Carlito Cool
John Cena vs. Edge

——————————
One of the worst RAW shows in memory as far as match quality, and the angles stunk too so it really didn’t seem worth the time. When the best match was Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle, ’nuff said. The return of Hunter and HBK as DX was obvious, so I didn’t give a crap, although I read the pop was still pretty big. After thinking about it, I’m quite intrigued. But HHH on RAW as a face? Against whom?
