Finlay vs. Benoit - SD! 5/5/06
Definitely a **** star match. Finlay is certainly a comeback wrestler of the year candidate. He’s turned a green Lashley into a solid wrestler. I think he has even given the kid confidence, but that is just speculation. Regardless, this was an awesome match and sadly, Finlay will never see main event status. Instead he will be given a little person as a sidekick.
Looking back on orton vs. Benoit, I might have liked that match better, if they were not closely tied with this match. I was missing a highspot here or there, something out of the ordinary. Everything else, the mat work and the selling and bumping looked terrific. The WWE style held this match back, more then anything. And why are people calling Finlay’s finisher an Emerald Frosion when it’s more of an inverted over the shoulder piledriver?
